Venue for the scientific programme

The meeting will take place in The Grand Hotel Vesuvio, in the beautiful Sorrento Peninsula of Southern Italy. Protruding into the Tyrrhenian Sea, the Sorrentine Peninsula extends between the gulfs of Naples and Salerno. Sorrento and the area around it, were the destination of famous travellers and were also the place chosen by the ancient Romans to build their villas. It is the starting point for numerous excursions: Pompei, Paestum, Naples and Vesuvius, Capri and Ischia, Positano, Amalfi and Ravello, thanks to a rich network of air, road, railway and maritime links. The hotel itself, built and furnished in modern style, is located in a charming position, overlooking the enchanting Bay of Naples and right opposite Vesuvius.

The participants will be provided with shared (double occupancy) accommodation while the invited speakers will be provided with single occupancy rooms. Most of the rooms are equipped with all the necessary appliances, wifi, a private bathroom and a balcony (see website below for further details). In addition, the hotel offers a large swimming pool, gardens, extensive lemon and orange groves, wide lounges, conference rooms, garage, parking, solarium and children's playground.
  • A child care service can be arranged in the hotel premises for a nominal fee.
  • A post-meeting tour to Pompei will be organized for those who are interested.
